Your pool deck takes more abuse than any other concrete on your property — blazing sun, chlorine splash, and near-daily summer downpours. The good news: keeping it in great shape is easy if you know what to do.
1. Seal it — and reseal on schedule
A quality sealer is your deck’s sunscreen and raincoat. It repels chlorine and water, resists fading, and makes cleaning easy. In our climate we recommend resealing every 2–3 years.
2. Keep it cool and slip-resistant
Light colors and a textured or cool-deck finish keep the surface comfortable on bare feet and safer when wet. If your deck gets uncomfortably hot, a cool-deck resurfacing is a quick fix.
3. Rinse off chlorine and salt
Hose down the deck occasionally to wash away pool chemicals and salt that can etch the surface over time — especially around the waterline and steps.
4. Address cracks early
Small cracks are normal as concrete cures, but left open they let water reach the base and widen. Sealing and repairing them early prevents bigger, costlier problems.
